NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Investigators are wanting into whether or not gasoline precipitated the lethal home explosion that killed one lady and injured eight others Tuesday within the Bronx.
One dwelling must be demolished, and not less than two others are destroyed.

The explosion occurred Tuesday morning at a house on Fox Street close to Intervale Avenue in Longwood.

That neighbor was captured on video alerting officers.
“There was no hesitation, they ran right in,” stated Capt. Anthony Mascia, with the forty first precinct. “We were very lucky today to save a life.”
Eight folks had been injured, together with 5 officers who suffered smoke inhalation. A 77-year-old lady didn’t survive.
Authorities recognized her as Martha Dagbasta. Neighbors stated she lived there for years, and the loss is devastating.
“There were two sisters from the fire building,” FDNY Chief John Hodgens stated. “Unfortunately, one of them has succumbed to the injuries and has passed away.”
